ACCESS 2 ACADEMICS

ACCESS 2 Academics

The ACCESS 2 Academics program is an innovative new virtual microschool program that specializes in the sensory, neuromotor and communication supports needed by many twice-exceptional students to excel at a meaningful and engaging academic education.

  • Is your student super smart but struggling to make academic progress?
  • Is your student struggling with anxiety and dysregulation, but you are only getting recommendations for behavioral therapy/ABA or life skills classrooms?
  • Does your student communicate via pointing or spelling?
  • Are you concerned about safety in a brick & mortar environment and find that distant learning options have not been adequate?
  • Does your student struggle to regulate in a brick and mortar school environment with unpredictable sensory stimuli and social exchanges they don’t have adequate support to enjoy?
  • Are you looking for a community that understands your student and supports your skill-building as a Communication/Regulation Partner (CRP)?
  • Has your student aged out or neared the special education deadline without the opportunity and support to earn credits needed for a general education diploma?

VIRTUAL K-12 AND ADULT EDUCATION PROGRAMS

ACCESS Academy offers virtual K-12 and adult education programs as an alternative to traditional, “one size fits all” special education, which often fails to support students with complex communication and sensory-motor needs. Research shows self-contained special education classrooms lack evidence-based support. At ACCESS Academy, we presume competence, ensuring students receive essential accommodations in age-appropriate, accessible online settings. Our fully-accredited curriculum includes licensed teachers and weekly coaching support sessions with our experienced support team, promoting each student’s growth and success as they pursue their accredited diploma.

Optimal ACCESS is an approved Indiana Education Scholarship Account provider. For more information about this program, see our handout.

So much value was found in the ACCESS programming. When in college I am expected to meet the standard the other students meet. Having the experience of doing so prepared me so I was not overwhelmed when applied to college level and volume. I appreciated the hard work and the way I was presumed capable when I had not always received that courtesy in the past.
